FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where can I donate?

I have created a way to accept donations to grow the project, use the WWII Veterans Portrait Series Go Fund Me.

Where are you located?

I live in the San Diego area but have traveled to many locations to interview and photograph Veterans.

How Long is an Appointment?

Appointments usually last an hour. But please free up time for Mickey to set up lights and cameras, hold the interview, and take some still photographers for in the project.

Do you accept reservations?

Yes is the simple answer to the question. Each appointment is set up as an individual session. Group sessions have been set up when I visited a senior living facility or many of the California Veterans Homes.

US Navy AEC World War 2 - Korea - Vietnam Chief Henry served in the US Navy for over 30 years, from 1942-1972. The Chief served in 3 campaigns during his enlistments, including World War 2, the Korean War, and Vietnam.  Chief Henry was an Aviation Electrician Mate Chief Petty Officer (AEC) responsible for maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical and electronic systems and instruments using the latest test equipment & procedures.
The Chief served his career in the rotary-wing arm of the Navy on various types of helicopters through his thirty years.  He worked on the very early adaptations of the Sikorsky YR-4B “Hoverfly", known as HNS-1 in the Navy, all the way to the Sikorsky HO3S helicopters used in Korea for Navy ambulance and sea patrol, much like the helicopters roll in today's Navy. His early efforts and adaptation led the Navy to maximize the power of the rotary wing air service today. Chief Henry fondly remembered Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in the Western Mohave as his favorite duty station during his 30-year career serving his Nation.
