Where can I donate?

I have created a way to accept donations to grow the project, use the WWII Veterans Portrait Series Go Fund Me.

Where are you located?

I live in the San Diego area but have traveled to many locations to interview and photograph Veterans.


How Long is an Appointment?

Appointments usually last an hour. But please free up time for Mickey to set up lights and cameras, hold the interview, and take some still photographers for in the project.

Do you accept reservations?

Yes is the simple answer to the question. Each appointment is set up as an individual session. Group sessions have been set up when I visited a senior living facility or many of the California Veterans Homes.

US Marine Corps SSgt World War 2 Barbara Komlenic was born on a farm in Lewisville, Virginia. She served in the US Marine Corps, USMC, for six years as a Clerk, General (Administrative and Clerical). MOS-055. Barbara was stationed at Headquarters Marine Corps, Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville, North Carolina. With its 14 miles of coastline and beaches, Camp Lejeune was the main training base for the USMC amphibious assault forces. 
 While stationed at the Head Quarters Barbera was the Secretary to General Rey. She enjoyed this job and felt she was doing her part for the War effort. Barbera served for just over six years and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant before the end of her service. Before leaving the Corps, she met her husband, Daniel Komlenic, who also served as a Captain in the USMC with the 1st and 2nd Marine Raider BNS in WWII. Danial served during World War 2, in Korea and Vietnam. Barbara was one of the 20,000 women who joined the Marine Corps during World War II and continued to serve the Marine Corps and her brothers and sisters for 35 more years as a civil servant stationed at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego. SSgt Barbara Komlenic shared her boot camp graduation photo with me on our visit. Like all Marines, Barbara will tell you. “Once a Marine, always a Marine.”
